it's a work shower? How about it's a work shower and you're not invited to the wedding? What would you give?
What if you ARE invited to the wedding, but it's still just the 'work shower'?
any difference in the gift that you'd give?
Most of you know, I didn't even get a card from my boss, or even my RSVP card back when I got married. Now, I have 1 coworker having a baby in September, and 2 coworkers both getting married in November.
None of these people worked with me when I was getting married. But, I'm not close with any of them (because they're pretty new at the company) and I doubt I'll be invited to the weddings. I just don't want to go broke on people I barely know...any thoughts?

At our office we collect money from everyone and give a bunch of gifts for a work shower. Could you suggest doing something like that? I think for the last baby shower we each chipped in about 20 bucks, and managed to fill a huge basket with lots of little things, and gave the mommy-to-be a gift card.

That's a really good idea. That's my my old job did too. Otherwise I would buy something from the registry that's under $25.

see, we stopped doing that because some people would STILL buy individual gifts and then the rest of us would look cheap.

if I wasn't invited to the wedding, I can only assume that I wouldn't be very close with this person. so I would probably just chip in for a gift, like we normally do at my job.
if I were friends with this person, I would definitely buy something off her registry on my own.
