...due to my concern over not having beading or lace on my dress...

that in photos (she actually showed me Vera Wang on Weddings) that the camera will actually pick up better a satin dress (the curves of it, the way it fits, shadows, etc)
rather than something that is very beaded!

Then she showed me a pic of a dress that was beaded and that it looked like little dark specs.

What are you opinions toward this?

I think a satin dress will look very nice in pics. I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes dresses have to much bedding and it makes the dress look ridiculous. Does it have any bedding or is it all satin.
P.S. If it looks at all like the Vera Wang dress that was shown on Oprah, it is amazing. That dress had no bedding just satin. If you don't know what I am talking about, Oprah gave away a wedding to a deserving couple. It was on TV about a month ago.

I had beading and it didnt look like black dots....but a beautiful satin dress can be gorgeous too! As long as the material is really good, thats all you need. And yes, I definitely think the camera picks up on quality fabric. But im a fabric snob

I actually am doing the opposite. I do not like the way satin looks in pics. It comes out sooo shiny which is why I went with lace/beading on my dress. While mine may come out 'sparkly' in pics, I do not want to look 'shiny'

not true, the beads definitely show up in photos. She probably just showed you a bad pic

Usually the beading on a gown shows up sparkly and very pretty in photos. I've never seen it look like dark specs. Sometimes all satin gowns don't look as good as those Vera Wang gowns do in photos -- but remember-- that's because the pics you probably saw were from a runway show with optimal lighting for the gowns. Even when I look at those kinds of pics, I'm like 'wow -- maybe I shoulda gotten a satin gown -- they look awesome!'

Then again, some people don't like the 'shiny' look of satin in photos (I wasn't crazy about it for my BMs gowns) but it also depends a whole lot on how the gown fits and quality of the fabric.

My point is, you can't go by those pictures to decide whether or not you want beading on your gown, IMO. You just have to love your gown and make sure it fits you well, that you love the fabric, and it will look gorgeous on you and in the pics!

I've never seen a beaded dress look bad in photos. They usually look very nice and sparkly. All the ones I've seen on everyones reviews look really prettty and I hope mine will too - Mine is satin and has beading!
