My wedding is 9/4 and I will probably go for my first fitting in May/June because I am having some work done to the bustline. They have to order the organza.

mine isn't until 8 weeks before the wedding, last one is a week before. that's how my bridal salon does it, i don't get a choice :o) but it works for me...more time to work out!!

First fitting is 2 months before. Second is one month before and 3rd is a week before.

My dress wont be here until April and my wedding is in July. But I don't want to go until about 2 months before...

I am going to schedule something for mid march. My alterations are going to be very minimal though. Assuming I can lose 5 more lbs the only alterations I need is shortening the halter straps.

I wouldnt start them more than 2 months unless you have major work to do on your dress. I tried mine on in Dec and knew that it needed to be taken in and a bunch off the bottom but not major work so I dont start alterations for another few weeks
