My wedding is 12/26/07, do you think its too late to send STD's? If not, I'm gonna try and send some out within 2 weeks. What do you think?

save the dates are usually sent a year before the wedding ... i think its too late

Too late at this point.
Don't worry. I only just decided in late May that I was getting married THIS sept. We just started telling family, and sent our invitations out a few weeks earlier than we normally would have.
No need for a STD.

STD's are usually sent out 6-12 months before the wedding. You're at 4.5 months - I wouldn't send them at this point.
I would, however, start spreading the word that your wedding is the day after Christmas, etc. That way people are aware of it. Invites are usually sent out 8 weeks before the wedding, but since you're right after a major holiday and aren't sending STD's, I'd send them out 10 weeks before. GL!

I don't think you need to send them - I think a year+ prior to the wedding they are sent...

I think it depends on your guests. For my sister's wedding we sent them out in February for her July wedding. With our family and friends you can't send something too far out in advance. If you can send them out this week it would be much better than having to wait another 2 weeks. IMO I think you should send them out because it is the day after Christmas and a lot of people go away or have to work the day after Christmas.

Don't worry about the STDs. I sent them out and now due to some unforeseen but major circumstances, I can't invite some of the people I sent the STDs to... I know that sounds really bad, but if you knew the story you would see how things can get really messed up....
In a way, It could be a blessing!

you'll be sending invitations out in a month probably...so IMO its way too late. Usually STDs are sent 6-12 month in advance.

i thought 6 months. but who made up these rules anyway? being that your wedding is on a holiday weekend, i would send them out to be sure....

Wow, very mixed answers, but I'm going to send them out (I'm actually going to buy them tonight) and hand them out ASAP - just because it probably won;t hurt. Its actually my friends who told me that I should get STD's...I wasn't going to before.
