when ordering a veil...

how do you know which color to get? My gown is made by demetrios and the color is 'silk white'...does that mean I need a silk white veil?

Re: when ordering a veil...

My dress is silk white. I ordered my veil in ivory.
Perfect match.
I was told that you should always choose ivory over white ti match a 'silk white' dress. But I assume that candlelight and diamond white would also be fine.

Re: when ordering a veil...

Now I am worried that my dress wont be white enough! I wanted a really white gown, but the gown I picked only comes in silk white and ivory. Will it be white enough? Man more stress...

Re: when ordering a veil...

you're welcome christy : )

go to where ever you are getting your veil and ask them or go to a place who custom makes veils and get it from them, then compare. this is what i plan on doing.
imagine not comparing, having the veil made and it doesnt match the dress??

Re: when ordering a veil...

i think it will be just fine. white or ivory is what its basically saying and white is white. satin is different but it will be white dont you worry!

Re: when ordering a veil...

Besides comparing my swatches I got for the veil shop to my dress, I emailed the mfg and asked her what color she thought I needed to get. My dress is ivory but when I originally bought the dress I didn't remember it being so ivory. But the ivory swatch matched best and the mfg agreed.

PS I forgot to tell you the store where I purchased the dress didn't like my comparing the swatches because they wanted me to buy the veil there. They were actually very mean to me. The manager told me if I didn't buy the veil from them it would never match. The shop where I bought my dress is very snobby. I spend a lot of money on my dress and therefore wanted to keep the rest of my attire costs lower...plus the veil they recommended I didn't like! Hopefully jennbaby you will have a better experience.

Re: when ordering a veil...

As I said I ordered my veil in Ivory, but when I received it, it just looked white.

I think that's pretty much how the case will be for a silk white dress. Unless it's up against something that's stark white, no one will even know it's not WHITE white.
