When shopping for a shower....

either bridal or baby
do you prefer to buy..

1 big thing

lots of little things ( things that go together)

what do you prefer to recieve??

I usually buy 1 big thing. I would prefer to get either 1 big or little gifts.

ummm... good question...

I think I prefer to buy 1 big thing, but prefer to get a lot of little tings... although... vise versa sometimes... ahhhhhhhhhh can't decide!

Usually I stick with a Theme

Baby shower gifts I recently gave....

1. Bath Tub, Bath soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, lotion, grooming kit, towel and wash cloth, and kneeling mat.

2. Car Seat, Car Seat Base, Seat Belt Srap protector thingys, a toy that hangs from the bar of the car seat, and a jacket and hat for an outing.

Wedding Shower Gift....

A basket filled with kitchen holiday decoration for every holiday...(Christmas, Valentines day, St. Patricks, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween and Thanksgiving)....and a buffet serving set...(it included service for 8 flatware, and dinner and dessert plates)

I like to put together a lot of things that go together. One moderate or higher price and a bunch of cheaper matching items.
Like:
Pyrex Set and measuring cups and spoons, wooden spoons, spatula, rolling pin, and mixing bowls.

For receiving I don't care as long as I get presents!!!!

My M.O. on shower shopping (not that I've had to do it too much though) is that I will either buy 1 big gift as long as it's also big in size (so I don't look cheap, but again this is just me and my neuroses) OR I'll buy a series of coordinating gifts -- like a fondue pot, fondue plates, and fondue cookbook.
