have my wedding dress ordered by?? i'm getting married may 08 & i heard that it takes a LONG time for it to get in so when is good to actually PLACE the order to have enough time for alterations and everything?? i'm getting it from davids bridal - OH yeah and im adding some beading and lace onto it from my mom's dress so i need EXTRA time dont i?!?!
UGGG i feel that i should have gone shopping already!!!

Some dress can take over 1 year to come in. I would ask them at the store how long it takes. If you can order it now that is better. the more time you have for it to com eis is good. NAd to leave room for mistakes or delays. And you also need time for fittings.

I think it really depends on the designer. I would start looking and as you go, ask the women helping you how long dresses usually take to come in.

Paula Varsalona is making my dress and when I was talkng to her she told me that she needs at leadt 9 months but that dosent include all the extras I am putting on my dress. My wedding is in oct of 08 and I am going to order it at the end of this month. Look into the designer you like and see how long they take. A LOT of them caould take up to 1 year. Good Luck

They said my dress will take 1 year also. So I ordered it this past weekend. This way I have time for my fittings and I don't have to panic about it not comming in on time.

Don't worry Michelle....Davids Bridal is actually REALLY fast with their dresses....people usually go 1 year before to get a dress....that's what I am gonna do
