When should I

send out thank-you card by?

I didnt even get my proofs yet (only online) and I have to choose thank-you pic....! ahhh

You have a year technically, but I think it's nice to send them around the 3 - 4 month mark - before 6 months definitely. Shows you didn't forget and that you were quick to thank (which I think shows real appreciation). Sending them at 9 months or later - to me - kinda implies that it wasn't important enough to do earlier. NOW, that may not be the case, and I know a lot of times the photogs take a while to get the pics, but that's how I FEEL when I get a thank you card after 4 months or so.

Today is my 2-month anniversary and our thank-you cards just came in this week. I am going tomorrow to pick them up and then hopefully we'll get them out within a few weeks. It's a LOT of writing... I hope it doesn't take too long! I think anywhere up to six months is still acceptable to most people. After that point I think some people start wondering what's going on...!

i had mine done on our one month ann. BUT that is fast - normally 6 months tops in my book, but you do have up to a year.

I'd say try to get them out within three months. I know people say you have a year, but it's like wedding gifts... you might 'have a year' according to ettiquette but most people are put off by having to wait that long.

i know some people think 6 months is a good time if you have photo cards, but after talking to people IRL, even 6 months is long.

I want to try to get ours out within 1 month if at all possible, 2 max, which is why we ordered TYs that match our invites. they just came in this week, and I might even address them in advance to save time. the longer i wait the more school work i'll have and the closer i'll be to exams, so unless i wait until the end of Dec (4 months), the earlier the better for me.
