when should I begin dress shopping

Hey girls, I am getting married next Nov. 2003 when do you recommend I begin my dress search? and when is the latest you think I should order it? Thanks

I got engaged October of 2001 and I'm getting married October 2002.

I started dress shopping immediately (it was so much fun!) and I ended up finally finding my dress in February. It just came in last week!

It all depends on the designer. It can't hurt to start going out now and getting ideas...but I would say you should probaby order your dress no later than Feb/March.

I am getting married the same month and same year as you are.

I was told that to look in October/November of this year. Right now I'm deciding on what colors I am going to dress my matron of honor and bridesmaids.

Really depends on the kind of dress you are looking for.

Couture & custom dresses take as much as 9 months to deliver after ordering so if you want that kind of dress, probably best to start shopping now.

If you are looking for something more available, then you should probably wait until later in 2002 to start looking so you avoid finding discontinued styles.

I think you could start looking now, you dont have to make a decision for a few months yet. It is so much fun to look for dresses.

By the way you will be getting married on my 32nd (ugh!) birthday!!

I am getting married in July 2003 and just bought my dress 2 weeks ago. The manager told me it could take 6-9 months to get in and that it will probably get in closer to the 9th month mark.
