it's all up to you. we already registered and our wedding is in april of next year. we went to a registry event at macy's where they gave us gifts and champagne and appetizers. it was very nice.

I was thinking right after christmas. A little less than one year before.

im not doing mine for awhile...we may be moving in july so i want to wait until after that so we can see what we will need

I did mine about a month ago. I figured if anyone wanted to get me something off it for either of our birthdays or Christmas they could. Also with Macys you get a percentage of anything bought off your registry or when you use your Macys card

I did mine months, but only b/c I needed it to be done
before my STD's went out.

as long as it is done before your STD's go out and well before your shower (in case you change your mind about something and want to make updates you'll have time)

ita agree date twin! I did my registry the day after I got engaged and check it every day

i did a small one at target for my eparty & every was purchased from it. Im going to make another registry soon so that when bdays & other special occasions come up pl can buy things off there.

We did ours several months ago because we were asked to put stuff on since my aunt wanted to buy us something...I will give you all one guess who didnt get us something yet

Also, they did tell us to wait on things like towels and sheets because colors change

We did ours about a month ago, because my grandmother gave us a beautiful Waterford butter dish and said 'well, it would have been something nicer if you'd registered.' That was her not so subtle way of telling us to register lol.

I think whenever you want to do it is fine. ONly our immediate family knows about ours, but it was good to get it out of the way.
