Getting in married in February 2006 (WOOHOO) and am planning to send out 'Will you be...' cards for my wedding party. When do you think I should do this? Is February too soon - that's a whole year away! I plan on sending out Save the Dates too, about 8 months out for my OOT guests and I don't want them to overlap... TIA.
I voted for February. I am getting married this february and got engaged february 03. Even though I had 2 years to go I asked almost everyone right away.
You should do this at your engagement party. If you aren't having one right away, then I voted you should do it in February. It would be a nice touch to send them 1 year from the date.
I'd do it ASAP - its fun to ask people to be part of the wedding, so why wait? Once I got engaged I started asking my bridal party. I asked everyone in person and since some members live out of state it took me 4 months before I saw everyone. So, buy 14 months before my wedding, everyone in it had been asked. Its fun for them too, they can get excited about it also!
I voted for February, but I'd do it whenever u wanted to. I was so excited when I got engaged (sept of 2004) that I asked right away. didn't make anything special over it, except for my MOH. I took her to lunch and asked during drinks. This way we wouldn't cry...........we did anyway

When we got engaged I already knew who I wanted so as we called to tell them the news we also asked them to be BM/GM.
