this is where i am at too.. trying to figure out who to call. Im thinking now is a good time i already called one i was interested and she was booked. I dont want to get stuck!

no it's not too early. Some of the more popular hair and make up artists are booking fast. Definitely do some research and make the calls to see who is available for your date.

good point...they might be booked...also trying to decide if I should go to a salon or have someone come to my house...not sure...

good point...they might be booked...also trying to decide if I should go to a salon or have someone come to my house...not sure...
II def want someone to come to my house, i dont want to stress about driving back and forth.

the only problem (in my eyes) with a salon is that you're not the only client. I kind of want the make-up/hair artists mind to be set only on me that day, not worry about their next client or their previous client.

thats true....Both my sisters had theirs done at a salon and it wasn't an issue but i don't know... I feel like my house is small, and there will be a lot of people...i dunno...uggghhhh

it should be fine, you're scheduling the time months in advance but I am extremely paranoid!

I was wondering this too, I see alot of good people are already booked up. I just figured it wasn't something I would do untill a few months before, but I think I will start looking now.

I went back and forth on this myself. I kinda like the idea of getting out of the house for a little bit in the morning so I booked my my hair at my regular salon and I figure I will have someone come to the house for makeup. That is if I ever get off my a$$ and start looking for one!

I would want to go to a salon. If you don't have a huge house to accomodate people everyone will be in everyones way! I personally also like to sit in front of that mirror at the salon to see everything they are doing. That's a bit hard at the house. I don't know that's my thought. My friend made a good point and said that going to the salon is like an outting for all the bridesmaids. They brought champagne and bagels and everyone had some good laughs. Not saying this can't be done at the house, but I don' t know. I think it would be crowded:)

I'm thinking the salon thing as well....just need to figure out the logistics! I think it will drive me less crazy than sitting at my parents' house all morning!

i would go for trials now, i went for trials early JUST so i can book a vendor i really want for my date...you'll see many of them are already pretty booked for 2008.
Im doing it at home because that morning i dont want to run around, ill be doing that all day and night...i want to wake up and not quickly rush out of the house to get to a salon, be able to lounge in my own house blast MY music lol smoke my cigarette and kinda just hang out with everybody in the comfort of my own home...I am ordering food that morning getting wraps, bagles, muffins and things like that.
Just think about your time frame, one big thing for me is not running around and not feeling rushed...Everytime i have an event im always rushing then having to rush home with barely any time to get dressed, i dont want to deal with traffic or god forbid get stuck in traffic, plus for the getting ready pics my photographer will take i prefer for it to be at my house, also the videographer will be there for my getting ready part and i prefer for it to be at home
