I am getting married Feb 04. One of my BM's live in Kingston (NY, not Jamaica) and I hardly ever get to see her. She is coming down in April for a few days, and I figured we can atleast pick them out while she is here. I would prefer if we could just pay for them not to get it out of the way, but do you think it's too early?

I don't see why ordering them this early would be a problem. Most important thing to do while your friend is in town is to make sure the shop gets her measurements.

I don't think its too early. I plan to start looking in June or July for bm dresses and thats about a year in advance for me.

Hey Laurie Will I be seeing you on the 21st?
Anyway - I don't think it will be an issue. My girls are planning on going this weekend to hopefully pick out our dress. They figured they could pick out the dress and order it now and then have it altered when the date gets closer to make sure it fits. I think actually it is better for the girls to do this because it actually spreads out their expenses so that they aren't trying to buy and pay for a number of things at once!

I am not sure if I can go, I'm sorry! I will let you know. I think I know which dresses I want, I just want to see how it looks on all of the girls. And I am dying to get it out of the way...

You should make sure that they don't go out of stock - something you pick out in Apriul may not be available months later

The only problem with picking out a dress early is that it may be out of stock by the time you order it, so if you are going to order it now, then I don't think it is too early.
