When Should I Register

I'm getting married November 1, 2009 and am not sure when your supposed to register? I was thinking about 6 months before the wedding. TIA

i wonder the same thing! im getting married after u and i wanna register soon bc im excited to lol, i just dont want everything discontinued haha.

Hey girls!!

I think if u are having an engagment party, then u should probably register before that, because people will ask you. If you arent, 6 months sounds fine, just make sure its at least a month before your shower so your guests dont drive u crazy! I say go for it asap though because its so much fun.

We registered a few weeks ago, just scratched the surface though. It's one of the few things FH has actually wanted to do, since it pertains to the house more than the wedding lol. It's definitely fun, and as long as you have the wedding stuff out of the way, I don't see why you couldn't start now.

I have no wedding stuff out of the way, but I'm a totally different story haha.

we registered a few weeks ago bc everyone keeps on asking what we want for Christmas. Ive been telling people to just get something off my registry.

we did registries over the summer well as much as i could with FH being away
we have a bunch that was disscontinued
so they need to be replaced or changed to other stuff
i think we def started too early but we had people asking where we were registered so we assumed they were looking to purchase gifts(of witch have yet to be seen O )

I think you can register as soon as you want! You could start slow and always go back to there website to add or delete things!

It's never really too early to register. For us, it was an 'easy' thing to get out of the way. Plus, I can keep going back and making updates/changes/additions/deletions as often as I want...giving me plenty of time to have it perfect before everyone starts buying us gifts!

BUT, you definitely need to do it before any e-party, shower or even before you send out e-announcements or STDs.

I would register ASAP, with the holidays coming it gives people an idea of what to buy you for gifts. Plus you never know when your shower is going to be!

ETA: We registered really early because people were already asking us the moment we told them we were engaged. They wanted to get us engagement gifts, and then it was our E party, and people have been picking it it for birthdays and stuff too. So it's just a good idea to do it early.

we started a small registry before our eparty back in june...but ill probably wait until feb/march to really register...

my FH will be so preoccupied w/ his racecar come spring/summer that we've agreed to do everything that he needs to be involved with before he dives into the car...
