Re: when should i register?
i think around the end of september would be a good time to start. figure that your invites will go out about 3-4 weeks before your shower which would put you at the beginning of november. that will give you a whole month to register and really tweek your list to make sure it has everything you want.

You can start looking online and writing down things that you both want to put on your registry!

Re: when should i register?
we registered a couple weeks after we got engaged. we started getting gifts off the registry as soon as we did it...from ppl that weren't even invited to the engagement party.
stuff gets discontinued and there is new stuff you want, but it can all be managed and changed online. its a breeeeeeze

Re: when should i register?
We've already registered/finished our registries. My mother said to have them completed by the end of Sept so I am going to keep chekcing back until then to make sure everything is still in stock but after that I won't look (I want the shower to be a complete surprise).

yeah I am sticking with it too. I really don't want to find out and if I see people are buying stuff I'm going to assume invites went out and it's coming up soon.

most registries now offer a Thank You program that when someone purchases a gift for you it will say they purchased it so you can properly thank them for it. I didn't sign up for any of those either.

yep, macy's, bloomingdales, crate and barrel and michael c. fina have it. bed bath and beyond doesn't.
its nothing to sign up for. when you have your registry open online you click the thank you manager or registry manager stuff and it shows you along with their address. it's supposed to be used for thank you cards
don't do it A!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here. I registered in May (i think) and I know things have been bought already. I just won't look! I want it to be a surprise!

I say register ASAP. You can always look to see if things are discontinued
