When should I schedule my fittings?

I'm going to be in NY May 8-June 28, and then again probably Aug 10 until the wedding. If I really need to, I might be able to fly in once more during July but I'd prefer not to if I can avoid it.

My dress came in yesterday... and I dont know when to do my fittings. How are they usually spaced out? Lillette's said they usually do the first fitting 2 months before, but I'm going to be OOT again the second half of the summer.

I'm also a little nervous because I gained 10 lbs last summer being 'wined and dined' as a summer associate and while I've pretty much lost all of the weight I'm going to be doing it all over again this summer. I'm going to be more careful about what I eat, but I dont know .. it's possible I might gain again.

Any ideas? My mom thinks I should make my first fitting May 15th, but I think I should push them back as far as I can.. just dont know when that is...

Since you seem to have somewhat special circumstances, maybe they can just do 2 fittings for you, instead of the usual 3? Do you need a lot of alterations? Maybe you can do one of them at the start of your May trip and another towards the end of June? Just a thought!

now that my dress is in i can pretty much schedule it to be however i want, but i still want to make sure my dress fits me correctly! it's a measured length so that shouldnt need a hem, but we ordered up one size just in case so it will need to be taken in. it's not an overly complicated dress but i just want to make sure i do things 'right' and it's hard when my circumstances are a little different

i dont know if early may is too early?

I basically have the same situation as you, i'm only home from Saturday April 19th until the middle of June (with my Graduation and a shower in Pittsburgh thrown in there as well!) Like you, I won't be back in NY until the week before the wedding... like August 3rd.

I just told my bridal shop I had to start early and I had my first fitting this past Monday April 21st. Luckily it went really well, and there's not much that has to be done! The seamstress said I only need one more, and I explained my situation so we made it for Tuesday June 10th, right before I move to Charleston.

When I go to pick up my dress in August i'll try everything on. But unless anything needs to be fixed I should be fine...
