When should I start?

We just set up the hall last week and the church last night. Our wedding is March 26, 2004. I'm anxious and want to do more stuff but everyone keeps saying I have so much time. Is there something I should be looking for now (photo, dj, etc.) or wait?
Thanks

Re: When should I start?

Well Congrats on booking the hall and the church!! I'm also getting married in 2004 (May 16th) and we've only booked the hall and the church. We're going to start looking for the other vendors in October or November. I would say to start soon (in a few months) because prices go up the more you wait and because if you do it now, you'll have your pick of vendors.

Good Luck

Re: When should I start?

You can start looking at vendors now so you have plenty of time to visit a bunch before you have to make a decision.

Re: When should I start?

I am also getting married in 2004 (Sept. 18th) and I have almost everything. I have the church, the reception hall, videographer, photographer, Limos and DJ. You can look into all the other vendors but remember that if you book now, you are mostly charged the price now not next years or 2004s price. I think that you should look into the other vendors and really see if you can leave a deposit for the vendors that you like.

Re: When should I start?

It's never too early to start looking and booking vendors. I had a 2 year engagement and once I booked the hall and church, I booked the photographer and dj within 6 months. If you have you heart set on a particular photographer, dj, band or florist, go ahead and book.

PLUS, you get today's prices rather than next year's.

I hear ya girl...I am so excited, we are set for June 04...We have our major vendors booked...I am using this time to get some really nice ideas to personalize my wedding. I have so much time to concentrate on the little things.

Re: When should I start?

Thanks for all your replies. I'm going to meet with the wedding coordinator next week. I'll see what vendors she recommends. I'm not as stressed anymore just excited!
