when should invites go out

I am getting married in june, when should my invites go out and what is the best date to put for RSVP..

I am hearing 4weeks to 8 weeks...

I sent mine out about 2 1/2 months before with an RSVP sate of 5 weeks before the wedding.

ideally i've heard 6-8 weeks (so about 2 months) and the rsvp is supposed to be 1 month. we have a lot of out of towners so we are sending ours 3 mos before. it makes more sense for us because there are many people not local and need time to clear the vacation at work.

sending ours exactly 2 months before.

ETA: RSVP is 3.5 weeks before.

I mailed my invites the 2nd week of July, with a RVSP date at the end of August for my late September wedding. I sent mine out so early because more than 1/2 our guests were from OOT.
