How far from the wedding should the shower be held? I'm curious because my wedding is in Feb and I'm not sure if the shower will run into the holiday's. I'm probably going to have to plan my own if I want to have one so I'm wondering when I should be thinking about this.

Re: When should the Shower be?
mine was 3 months before... almost to the day...
i think that was the perfect time before i had to kick things in high gear as far as the last minute things that need to get done...

Re: When should the Shower be?
my wedding is 2 days after yours and i think I am going to have the shower in early nov or the latest early december. After that, will definitely interfere with holiday finances.

Re: When should the Shower be?
showers are usually anywhere from 1-2 months before the wedding but I have seen showers being held even earlier than that. My friend's mother actually did her shower in November for her April wedding - I think to trick her. If you are worried about it running into the holidays there is no problem with doing it earlier.

I think mine will be in September, and there is another January Bride who had theirs last weekend. I think it is whenever you are lucky enough to have someone throw it for you!

Re: When should the Shower be?
Mine will probably be the weekend before my wedding.... Not exactly the best, but it has to be as my mommy and maid of honor wouldn't be there otherwise!

Re: When should the Shower be?
I'd say do it beginning of December. No one usually takes vacation at that time. And its right between the holidays.

mine was 4 months before, i think 3-4 months is perfect, i think the closer you get the more financial strain youre putting on your guests which is something to keep in mind

Re: When should the Shower be?
based on my friend's bridal showers, it looks like it's about 2-3 months before the wedding

Re: When should the Shower be?
You should do what you feel is best for you and your bridal party if it's more than three months before the wedding I don't think anyone really will care. But people might care if it interferes with holiday parties and finances.
