I believe 8 weeks in advance is good to send your invites out.

That sounds about right. You'd probably want to send them 6-8 weeks before. Sending them in December allow extra time because a lot of packages and holiday cards go out.

I think sending them out in mid-December is plenty of time - that will give your guests a good amount of time to respond.

im in march, but im sending mine early for two reasons: 1 almost all my guests from out of state they need ample time to plan, and 2: id hate to bombard people right around holidays....

generally they say 6-8 weeks...but, I'm also getting married in February, and 6-8 weeks, puts me smack dab in the middle of christmas card rush!! So, I'm going to send them right after Thanksgiving, especially since I have a b-list also, so, I'm hoping to get a few responses right off the bat, so I can invite a few extra!!!

I was thinking about sending mine out in the very beginning of May and have the RSVP date in the middle of June maybe friday the 13th, who could forget that? lol

I never thought about it, when I get an invitation anywhere, I put the date on my calendar the day I get the invite...I'd be sending them out the last week in November, so they'd be recieved the beginning of December. My wedding is February 9th, so, it's really only two months. But...I don't know...I've never forgotten a wedding date, regardless of when I've gotten the invite...

My friend got married last Feb (16th ) and they sent the invites out the first week of December because of all the hoilday mail. This give time for people to get the invites and send them back.

p.s. it took us 1 week to get our invite from the same town !

Re: When should u send out invitations?

oh, and the RSVP date will be January 9th...that way, even if some of the invitations go out like, December 20th or whatever, (after we've gotten some no's) there's still plenty of time before the response date...
otherwise, if the 'b-list' invites go out too late, like, too close the RSVP date, it's too glaringly obvious that the guest was on the b-list, and I don't think that's nice...
