When should vendors be Confirmed???

Just wondering. My wedding is not until October, so I know I have time, BUT I'd like to get an idea as to when vendors, church, reception hall, etc. should be confirmed. 2 months? 1 month? a week? I'm lost! Thanks!

i have no life so i call my hall once a month, i just booked my videographer and we email each other all the time, and my church i havent spoken to since we booked. which reminds me to call the organist so i can book him.

i would call the vendors just to touch base with them and find out when you need to go in to finalize things (menu at the hall, etc..)

then about a week before the wedding give everyone a call just to follow up. about a day or 2 before the wedding either you or your maid of honor call the vendors to ensure time of delivery of stuff (flowers, photographer, limo) and what time they can be expecting you, etc...

its always good to follow up on stuff

Thanks!!! I should really follow up a little with people. I'm assuming they all remember my wedding because I keep getting my bills in the mail! haha!

We followed up with the hall and photographer about 2 weeks before the wedding.

The DJ about a month before.

The videographer about a week before.
