ahhh after reading so many forums I am nervous my std are too late. My wedding is 5/24/15. My engagement pics are oct 9th and want to wait to use them. So my std won't be going out until early nov. Is that too late?

I'm sending mine out this week and my wedding is in April. I think a lot of it depends on how many people you think will be traveling from far and need to make accommodations. I feel like as long as you get them out by 6 months you're fine.

I think the rule of thumb is 6-10 months? I am going to be ordering my STDs today and I have around the same date as you.

I am only 2 weeks after you and I haven't even really thought about save the dates yet! But November seems like plenty of time that's still a good 6 months before!

Ours will probably go out in mid-late Oct (engagement pics are tomorrow!!). I think it's just a technicality, so I wouldn't worry about it. The people that really matter already know (and have the wedding on their calendar). It's just a fun thing to send out, I woudn't worry at all!

I'm getting married the same day as you and I'm sending them out next week. I would recommend getting everyone's address ready before hand and when you receive them you could mail them immediately. Depending on where you're ordering from maybe you could receive the envelopes earlier and preprint them to save some time.

My wedding is in July, and I am sending them out by the end of the this week. The only reason I am doing it so early, is because we have a summer wedding. This way people don't plan a vacation on my wedding day

Mine went out last week and my wedding is the same day as yours. I wanted to get mine out early because we have a lot of people traveling. I wouldn't worry too much!

I think ideally they should be sent out within the one year mark, but given the actual invitation goes out so close to the wedding, I don't think it's too late and better late than never. Don't stress it

I am hoping to get ours out by the 1 year mark. I really want to make sure everyone is there- but we may not get them out until about 10 months before the wedding because we haven't even definitely booked a photographer to do our engagement pictures yet!

I got mine out at the 10 month mark. Most people knew the date already but I just wanted to make sure they would actually save the date by seeing it. Even if it is cutting it close, at least your guests can save the date a few months before the invitations get sent out. And like someone said above, get the addresses and everything before hand!

Mine went out at 11 months, but you have time, they're fun to send so don't skip out on them because you think its too late!
