When the shower is not a surprise
My baby shower is not a surprise for logistical reasons. Most of the guests know that- so should I be there to greet them when they arrive? It would be weird to come later than everyone and make an 'entrance.' I hate being the center of attention as it is.

Re: When the shower is not a surprise
Do what you feel comfortable with. As long as you are there is all that matters. And since the guests know that you know I dont think they will find it 'wierd' for you to greet them.

Re: When the shower is not a surprise
my bridal shower was not a surprise, but I came after most of the guests had arrived. Not sure why really...I think you should do whatever you're comfortable with. If you're there as they come in, it will be easier to greet them, rather than having to go around to everyone once you arrive.

Re: When the shower is not a surprise
If it is not a surprise I would be in the room to greet my guest. But if my family was trying to surprise me and I found out, I would not be in the room beforehand.

My shower isn't going to be a surprise either... but i'm going to be a bit late... Same way for my bridal shower. I thought it was easier to walk around and great everyone. Plus they were all relaxed, has a drink and it wasn't like I was there just saying hi when they stepped through the door......but then again, I like to make an entrance...

Re: When the shower is not a surprise
Mine wasn't a surprise, and it was in my sisters house, where we live in her apt. I came down after the guests arrived and it was fine.

My shower wasn't a surprise either and I arrived after most of my guests were already there and it was fine. People find a way to entertain themselves..i.e. eat, drink
