Actually you tell them how you want to be announced. It can be done any way you like!

THough ours was just first name too. some of their names were long so it would have gotten ridiculous.. haha

Of all of the BP's I've been in, they only said my first name - I would have remembered them asking how to pronounce the last name.

I think you can do it the way you want, but I think it's usually just the first name! The Bride and Groom of course gets their last name announced!!!
