When to Bustle

When should my dress be bustled?
We are going to the cocktail hour and our first dance is right after we are announced in.

Should I do it before the cocktail hour? After? what's the protocol?

I would do it right before the CH. We're also attending our CH, and I'm bustling mine right after pics (just before CH) so that guests dont step on the train as I'm walking around.

I bustled my dress right after my first dance but I also did not go into the CH.

I will be doing it before the CH, I don't want it stepped on during the CH or the first dance!

Yep, before CH. Don't want it to get stepped on or have myself trip on it and fall down, which is a very real possibility. I am a total klutz!
