I would do it before the 1st dance. you don't want the dress dragging all around the dance floor.

Re: when to bustle your dress??
I did mine right after the ceremony. The bustle went up and the shoes came off!!!!!

I did mine in the middle of taking pics. We were taking pics for a little over 2 hours and it was easier to have it bustled

Re: when to bustle your dress??
I took my train off (detachable) after the first and second dance. I wanted to be announced with it in so my relatives who couldnt make it to the church could see the entire gown. I did have a loop installed to make the first two dances easier.

Re: when to bustle your dress??
I did it right before the CH. It's so much easier to go around and talk to people with the train bustled.
tough question....i would think before the first dance is the easiest but then my dress such a beautiful train that I wouldnt want everyone to miss seeing it...meaning..those who dont make it to the church...
I may hold my train during first dance and then bustle...

Re: when to bustle your dress??
after ceremony... before cocktail hour. Every dress Is different, it would have been impossible to walk around with my dress not bustled. I was stepped on all night when I was bustled.
