When to buy crib? And Where?

When to buy crib? And Where?

I'm not sure when to start shopping. All of my friends have given me different advice on where to buy the crib....how long do they normally take to get? Is it like regular furniture where you have to wait 2 months? Or if you buy from a store, do they have them in stock?

Also, where should I go on LI? I was thinking of ordering online, but I am afraid the color won't match the other items in the room! So I'd rather see it in person.

My mother bought my crib last month and I'm due in June. The only reason why we got it (from Babies R Us) is because it was on clearance for almost half the price. I fell in love with this crib and I would have been disappointed if it was not longer available. They had the crib in stock and we picked it up that night. I couldn't believe how BIG it was. They had to take it out of the box and load it into my truck....and by the way, if you don't have a truck, you're not getting it home.

I personally wouldn't order something online because of the color reason.

Besides BRU, you could try Buy Buy Baby, Behr's, Tagret, J.C. Penney's...just to name a few.

I ordered my crib at the end of November from BuyBuyBaby. It is still not in. They say the end of the month. We'll see. I am due April 5th.

I plan on ordering my crib from Buy Buy Baby also this weekend. I am due the day before you. I better hurry up!
