How do I know when to change the nipple? For the past few days Sarah has been playing with the nipple more and dribbling a lot more on her face when she eats. Is this a sign she's frustrated with the slow flow nipple? We're using the Playtex nursers and she's 7 weeks old.

Every baby is different, but at 7 weeks she might still be too little for the fast nipple. Maybe she wasn't as hungry at the particular feeding you noticed her playing with the nipple?
Again, every baby is different and different things work for different babies.
My son is 6 1/2 months and I am just thinking about trying him out on the faster nipple.

You know I was using the Playtex ventaire and had a lot of issues with them as the baby got older. At first he used them no problem just very slow but was ok when he was drinking 2-3 oz but as he ate more - - it would take him an hour and a half to eat 4-5oz and most of the time he would get too frustrated and not finish or go nuts. meanwhile with the Avent it would take him less than an hour - more like 30 minutes.
Since I have so many Playtex ventaires and he is outgrowing my original Avent bottles - I just figured let me try the Stage 2 nipples for Playtex and see what happens. I started this weekend and so far it has been great. I am using them here and there and no issues. Kevin is about 2.5 months now and seems to handle Stage 2 from Playtex fine. Still uses Stage 1 for Avent and I wouldn't think of changing that because Stage 1 is fast enough.

I used the ventaire also and switched to the faster nipple after 2 montsh becasue it was taking jillian hours to eat a bottle.. she choked alittle at first and then got totaaly used to them in no time

Re: When to change the nipple to the faster flow?
Thanks! It's been a few days of her playing with the nipple, so I decided with her last feeding to switch and it was so much better! She ate the 4 oz quickly and barely dribbled any out of her mouth! I'm going to keep watching closely over the next few days to make sure it's not too fast, but it was a much better experience for both of us this time.

IF YOU ARE ALSO NURSING, DO NOT SWITCH TO FASTER FLOW NIPPLES!
