This is probably a silly question but I really have no clue. When do you do a tasting? Is it done after you book your hall so you know what things to include in the CH and on the menu? Or is it done before you book any halls, to help you decide which hall to choose?

Re: When to do a tasting.
You can do either, it depends on the hall.
Some halls, like Sandcastle, don't do food tastings.
We went to a couple of food tastings before hand. A lot of the halls do it before so they can sell you on the food.
Because FH is in Iraq we are going to do another food tasting so he can experience it, in September
But just call the places you are interested in first, see what they say.
PS, Chateau La Mer does food tastings before you even think of booking, I definitley reccomend them, yummy yummy!

Re: When to do a tasting.
We did our taste testing before booking the hall. We booked the same night, right after the tasting.

I didn't taste before I booked, but i've been to their showcases where they put out a wonderful spread of their popular stations for cocktail hour.

Re: When to do a tasting.
I would definitely do a tasting before you book. We went to a tasting at Thatched Cottage and found that it wasn't what we were looking for. We also tasted with East Wind before booking as well.

Re: When to do a tasting.
You should do it before, but some caterers don't offer tasting. SandCastle doesn't but their food is amazing, I have been there alot and it's always great!!

Now seriously I dont agree with this. I dont see why we need to sign a contract before we taste a bit of food. Im not saying give me a huge feast like CLM, but a little tid bit would be nice. Were thinking of paying thousands of dollars to them. Youd think theyd want you to try their food first.

Floral Terrace is owned by the same owners of Sandcastle and I was able to do a taste testing before booking so I'm surprised you weren't able to.
