When to do last dance...

So my DH & I have a surprise for our guest, at 8:30pm they will be invited to where the sea meets the shore, where they were for the ceremony only 4 hours prior...

hmmn, what type of surprise could be over the ocean?

Do we play the last song before the guest go back to the beach?

Or do we assume all guest will come back inside before leaving the wedding?

I say before the beach........ This way you can say 'Well you thought it was over... now the new Mr. and Mrs. have a surprise for you...' (then direct them out to the beach)
