When is a good time to buy the wedding dress for an 08' wedding? Is now too early ? Im afraid if I purchase mine now, I will find a better one next season. When should I start looking?????? Please help!!!

I think I am going to start looking around Feb-Mar. They say to order your dress 9 months to a year before your wedding because that is how long it can take for you to get it. In may it will be a year until i get married so I figured if I give myself 2-3 months to look around for one before I buy it, it should be enough time, or at least hope it will be.

same here, everyone can't believe I haven't started looking yet, well not in real stores, I've looked online. I'm most likely going to have mine made but I want to go to the stores and see what style fits me best. You can always do that and not buy until the new season styles come out!

I tried on a couple and fell in love with the very first one I tried on - - -so I had to have it!!!!
Give yourself enough time to enjoy it - - -and do not let any sales person pressure you into buying a dress.

I went to my first wedding shop in Lindy today to look for shades of green in order to nail down a color for the wedding. I peaked at the wedding dresses. I am waiting till deff. the new year if not till March to go serious dress shopping.
Going to have all blk bm dresses and i buy the color green I really like (satin) and they will make ribbons to add to the dresses for me to use as a accent. Whoo hoo!

same here...everyone's like so did u look at dresses yet...do u know what u want...what kinds do u like...and im like well i only got engaged a few weeks ago and we're still stuck on a place!!! but i have looked in magazines. im excited to try stuff on just to see what's out there.

Yea my manager at work keeps harassing me b/c she wants me to go try on dresses b/c apparently that was the first thing she did when she got engaged but she also only had 5 months to plan her wedding! There was a girl on one of those bride shows today who only had a month till her wedding and she was searching for a dress at macys! I didn't even know that was possible!

I definatly want to look, but i do not want to buy now, i feel its too early, what if i change my mind and see something 6 months from now that i love. I definately would like to purchase at the one year mark

Yea and she was a severe bridezilla! If I was her I'd be so happy a wedding boutique would even speak to me I'd take the first dress they threw at me!

i heard 9 months too....some places will do a tracking on it also, so if you find something you like, they will track it to make sure it does not get discontinued before your ready to buy it. so that way if you are not sure, your not pressured into buying it.

Everyone's telling me about 9 months to 1 year. Cause thats how long it can take to get the dress made. I started to look already. But I won't buy untill march or april.

I planned on March, but that was when i was getting married April of 08. Now that i am getting married in November, I'll probably start the Christmas break next year.

Same here...I tried on about 7 - 10 dresses and I fell in love with the last one, so I had to have it. I'll go back closer to the wedding to get it altered.

i was wondering the same thing? Im doing this crazy nursing program right now and i dont have time for anything......wedding plans on hold for the most part until graduation (March 29th) so i will prob start shopping around then....i have looked online and seen somethings i liked...but i will get serious in the spring/summer. Plus i think that will be the most exciting part and i want to take the time to enjoy it!
