I am getting married Oct. 2005 and we would like to hopefully be pregnant by Jan. 2006. When should I stop taking birth control pills. FH says 6 months before but I'm afraid I will get pregnant before the wedding. What do you suggest. I want to make sure it is fully out of system and doesn't hurt the baby in any way.

My doctor said to wait a couple of months after going off the pill before trying to get pregnant. But I think that's just to get your cycle regular again. Some girls don't get their periods for a while after going off the pill. I got mine on time though....

You should go off 3-4 months prior.. Maybe just start tracking so you know approximately when you are ovulating and be VERY VERY careful during that time? Good Luck!!!

About 3 months! That gives your body time to get back to normal.

I'm also worried about side effects such as weight gain and pimples for my wedding. Maybe I will stop right after my wedding.

Its probably different for everyone... I didnt gain weight, although got bloated right before AF.. the pimples didnt start until about 3 months of being off BC... Do you want to be pregnant BY Jan or start trying in Jan?

I just went off BC and we are planning on conceiving starting after December.
