I am a teacher so I want to try and get pregnant this summer...hopefully July if I time things right When should I go off of the pill...I have been on it for abour 5 years.. thanks...

yes, you *can* get PG as soon as you go off, but the doctors recommend waiting 3 months after coming off the get PG so the hormones are balanced

Actually when I told my Dr my DH wanted twins, he said to try as soon as I went off the pill because it's the highest chance of mutliples.

3 months before you want to start trying. Use condoms for those 3 months in order to be safe.

WHAT??? This is great to know! I will GO BACK on the pill just for this, so I can go off again and increase my twin chances.

Well, it took me 7 months to get pregnant with my daughter and 6 months with my son. I was on the pill for 6 years before getting pregnant with my daughter and then 4 years before with my son.

I know what you mean!!! I'm a teacher also and I wanted to plan a baby in the summer too. (I'm due in June) I went off BC about 4 months before and then started trying in August. We conceived in September but everyone is different!! My doctor first told me that it can take up to a year!
