hi Everyone! I get engaged this past April and already booked a venue for a May 29th wedding of 2015, yay!! When is the latest I can order a dress?? I work in the city long hours and I keep procrastinating it and everyone is getting me nervous saying I should order already!!! Can people post and let me know how long it took from the time they ordered to when they received it? Thanks!!!

Only 3 months! I think you still have a little bit of time but you should start looking soon in case you can't decide!

I've seen girls get their dresses within a month on here and some that took 8 months to come in. It really depends on the store (David's Bridal seems to be the quickest) and designers. I would start looking around now. I'm a very indecisive person and know I'll need to give myself time to search and make a decision. Good luck and congrats!

I ordered mine in January and it should be here any day. They usually say leave 8-10 mos, some places the dress comes in a bit faster. If I were you I would look

Kleinfelds says 8-10 months but they don't always actually order the dress until a few months before they need to start fittings. Not sure if other bridal stores do the same thing. At least this is what a wedding 'insider' told me.

Depends if you order it or go off the rack. I have a May 2015 wedding and went dress shopping in July. My dress should be in on Halloween.

My sister planned her wedding in 3 months and got a dress that was off the rack and she looked gorgeous.

Maybe you can try checking out places in the city, maybe on your lunch break? Just to at least get an idea of what you like. I got my dress at RK Bridal in the city.

Just for reference...I ordered my dress end of June from Bridal Suite of Bay Shore, they said it would be in around Jan/Feb.
You can definitely get one faster if need be, a friend of mine planned a wedding in about 6 months and had a beautiful dress.
But I would also suggest starting to look now, especially if you are super picky like me.

I am getting married a few days before you and just started looking this weekend. I haven't found anything I like and I won't be able to go again until the end of August/beginning of September. I think you definitely have time! I am giving myself until the end of September to find/order my dress.

Ordered in July will receive my dress in November. Hope this helps.

Ok good I feel a little better lol. I've definitely narrowed down to a few dresses and have my wedding practically all planned on Pinterest lol jk. I think finalizing by Sept is def a good idea.

I'm getting married right before you in May. I just ordered my dress this past Saturday. It took me a long time to decide because I'm so indecisive and just wanted to keep trying on more. My dress should be in around February they said.
