Hey girls. Approximately how long before the wedding should I consider ordering the gown? I've heard many different answers - some have said that it's never too soon; others have said not more than a year before. My wedding is in May 2009. If I found 'the one' in the near future, would it be too early to order it? Thank you!!!
I ordered mine about 14 months before, wasnt planning on it, but i found the perfectone and was so happy i just did. I dont think its ever to early.
i ordered in January 2008 for my December 5th 2008 wedding - so for me its about 10 -11 months before....my dress should be in by July....i could have waited a few more months - I got a Demetrios and they told me they arrive in about 6 months but i wanted to get it ordered and done with.....i'd say around year before is good - i personally wouldnt order any earlier than that unless you know the designer you like takes longer than a year to come in....
I would suggest at least 8 months worth of time.
i ordered mine in march 07 and it just came in two weeks ago
Hey date twin! I have already ordered my dress! It should be in by this may. I fell in love with it and knew it was 'the one.' The bridal shop recommended that I go ahead and order it since it was an older style and might get discontinued soon. If you find a dress that you love, I say go ahead and get it!
thanks everyone!!!! i fell in love with one yesterday (it was only the 4th one i've tried on) and i've been questioning ever since whether or not it's just too early to buy it and whether or not i should keep trying on gowns just for the heck of it!!
I ordered my dress 6 months before my wedding. But if you found the dress just get it!
i bought my dress last month and my wedding isnt until Oct 2009...cause i love the dress and i didnt want it to be discontinued...so id say, if its the dress...get it now..just dont get any alterations until closer of course..
If you find a dress and you know its the 'one' then go for it, depending on the sale of that particular dress if you wait that dress may be discontinued. My dress was discontinued shortly after I ordered it. I ordered my dress exactly 9 months prior to my wedding b/c i couldnt find a sample until then. I say order if you are in love
I ordered mine January 2007 and it came in January 2008...they told me it might have been in sooner but that didnt happen...my sister is getting married a few weeks before you and she hasnt started looking yet...but it also depends on the designer...IMHO if you love it...get it
I am getting married in March of 09 and I ordered my dress in December of 07. If you find the one, go for it! That's what I did.
some gowns take 10-12 months to come in. so it depends on what designer your looking at. i ordered my dress jan 17th and it wont be in til november. less then 2 months before my weddding.. thats cutting it close for me.
I ordered mine in January, 2008 for my wedding in September, 2008. When I went shopping, I was told that I had to order a gown by the end of January to ensure that it arrived in time.
I ordered mine Dec. 2007 and am getting married Oct. '08. I waited to make sure there wasnt any other dress I would fall in love with.
