I have no idea and still a lot of time. But when do you think is a good time to start and how long does it take?? If I wait until January is this fine??

Hey girlie...waiting until January is absolutely fine. Luckily for guys, they could pretty much show up 2 weeks before and still get tuxes. But, because you're getting married around prom season (lovely time of year BTW ) as long as it's a month before or more you should be OK. We went 3 weeks prior (yeah, procrastinate much? ) and there were plenty of alternatives...

I don't know if it's the same way for everyone...but DH looked at styles on my bridal magazines and men's magazines (GQ, Esquire, Details, etc.) to get an idea of the 'look' he wanted. Then he and I went to the tux shops to see if they carried what he had in mind...we narrowed it down to 'the shop' and he picked out the tux and I helped coordinate him and the guys. The BM didn't have much of a say and neither did the GM's (they were all his brothers) but luckily they loved what we picked (although not the price ). I went with DH and then with DH and the BM and then DH, BM and GM everytime...but DH asked me to as he wanted my opinion.

my fiance went about 2 weeks ago.. the guys can get measured a month before the wedding.. they have it easy !!!!!!!

I had to stand my ground on that one. I gave FH a pop quiz and asked him what he would pick if he went on his own. He jokingly said he would match the ties and vests to the BM dresses. I said 'Hell no, this ain't your senior prom.' I wasn't taking any chances so I went with him. Even the salesperson said 'No' to matching with the ladies. I'm glad I went. Though I got all teary-eyed when I saw him dressed up.
