I have 11 months until the big day and people keep asking when I am going to register? I am not having and engagement party so I don't know? Is it too soon? I just don't want things to get discontinued.

I registered about 13 months prior. I did not have an engagement party either. But once I registered I got gifts from some people. I left off things like bedding and towels. They will let you know if anything gets discontinued.

My wedding is 9/07 and I started Registering but Left alot of things off because they get discontinued .. Im not having an Engagement party

Ditto for me...I am going to do it at 8 months. I heard that doing it too far in advance can sometimes screw you since a lot of stuff gets discontinued, and then you end up doing double the work.

We just registerred 2weeks ago and I think it is fine.I did not pick out bedding and some other stuff but I started the registery.

My wedding is 11/23/07. I started to register in May because people have been buying me gifts and I figured I might as well. I'm also doing like a little at a time...liek i did China and appliances first.

I had an e-party so I registered rather quickly, but I think about 2-3 months before your shower would be anough time. It's so much fun though, they give you a checklist (shich is helpful) and a scanner and you just go around and scan things you see that you would like. Macy's and Bed Bath and Beyond both let you know if something is being discontinued and make suggestions on alternatives. HTH
