It is never too early. I am getting married in 14 months and I already registered.

its never too early cause you never know who wants to give you an engagement gift...
one thing to keeep in mind is with that much time soemtimes the appliances change and new models come in..

No way thats not to early! I did it as soon as we got engaged. That was over a year before the wedding. I think we registered even before we set the date. I was so excited, I couldn't wait! Go for it!

Most places notify you when an item is discontinued or you can keep checking online and see and then you can chose another item.

Just be prepared to have to continually update your registry...things get discontinued all the time.

I registered 10 months in advance (and so far, nothing has been discontinued) my wedding is 11/1

i think we registered a month after we got engaged (i couldn't wait any longer) at fortunoff. and it was 13 months before the wedding. then after a few months and us deciding and changing our minds, we registered at macy's too.
i don't think it's ever too early and i think people appreciate a registry bcause they have no idea what to get you otherwise!!

yep...never too early. People were sending me gifts a few days after I got engaged.

i was thinking it might be good idea to register for a few things for the purpose of engagements gifts too (since people have been asking). you can always add to your registry later on!

try to do it like 9 mos at least, items get discontinued then you have to change them & sometimes go to the store to check out the new item you want
