Re: When to register?
I believe most of the timelines say 9-6 months before. I just registered for my March 2013 wedding. We just hit the 9 month mark.

Re: When to register?
I think you can register whenever you want as long as it is done by the time the shower invites go out. I registered at about the 8-9 month mark as well just because it was fun to do and I'm glad I did it early on b/c you will have so many other things going on in the months leading up to the wedding.

Re: When to register?
We registered around our one year mark at the request of FH family. I have been slowly adding and editing it since then.

Re: When to register?
The earlier, the better. We were being asked the day we got engaged! A lot of people who purchase engagement gifts prefer to pick things off a registry. It doesn't have to be complete, but starting is a good idea.

Start it whenever you would like!! You can always go back an edit...it makes it less stressful if you do it way in advance :)

Re: When to register?
We started our registries at the end of march and actually just today went to one of the stores to finish one of them with the fun scanner!

Re: When to register?
We got engaged in March and I registered in April...15 months before our wedding in July of 2013... but we've already gotten more than 10 gifts from our registry as engagement gifts!!! I think the sooner the better, especially since you've set your date!!!

This!! If you decide to have an engagement party you may want to register earlier.

Re: When to register?
We registered not long after we got engaged. People bought us gifts from the registry for e-party gifts. I didn't do everything then, but I put a good range of stuff by looking online. I let people find out about the registry through word of mouth. When it gets closer, I will go to the actual stores to pick out more stuff.
Its not a bad idea to start now, if you have some free time.

Re: When to register?
Great question! My FH & I have been going back and forth on when but since we have an engagement party booked for July, we figured we should start soon. What are the places to register? SHould it be 1 or 2 locations? We were thinking Bed Bath & Beyond and Bloomingdales but I don't understand why we need 2 locations.. Anyone know?

Re: When to register?
This is a great question. I was actually thinking about going to do my registry sometime soon. We've alreadu hit our one year mark and I feel like time will be going by fast so I want to do as soon as possible. I'm only thinking of doing one registry; Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Re: When to register?
When my sister got married, she registered only at Macy's. Both my cousins are getting married one this weekend & one next year they registered at like 3! Seems so involved and confusing for guests to purchase when they have so many different places to go. I love BB&B because there are so many of those 20% off coupons that I won't feel like I am burdening my guests with higher priced items but unsure if it will have everything. Yikes!

I guess if BB&B does not have everything you want I guess you can register at a second place.
