when to send out invitations

I am getting married on Feb 25th. My mom thinks we should sent out invites on Dec 26th to avoid Holliday mail.

But most invitation vendors are telling me I should send them out before Dec 11th. what do you girls think?

Hmmm...thats a good question but I'm a scr## etiquette person. I would say to maybe send them out in the beginning of December because things can get pretty crazy between december and january in general. JMOT!

You don't think 2 1/2 months it too early to send invitations?

I always thought it was 6-8 weeks was the proper time

I am getting married on April 15th and am sending them out on Feb 1st. 2 1/2 months is good IMO

You need to give them 5 weeks to reply and then you need the reply 5 weeks before the wedding.

Mine are going out Feb 1st with an RSVP date of March 8th.

when is your responce date? IMO, if you send it too early, people will put it to the side and forget about it. expecially with the holiday hecticness. I say 4-6 weeks prior to the responce date.

I think its a good idea to send them before the holdiays. With a 1/15 response date, if you send them on 12/16, that will give your guests about 2 weeks to respond. If you send them out in the beg, if DEc it will give them about 5 weeks.

I am getting married March 31st & sending my invites out January 2nd. I think you need to send your invitations out in late November...usually 8-12 weeks prior

Hey date twin!!!! My RSVP date is January 18th, but I am also debating when to mail them out. I don't want them 'forgotten' because of the craziness of Christmas. I'm not sure what to do........BUT keep in mind the price of stamps may increase by January 1. I e-mailed the USPS.com and they can't confirm until October whether or not there will be a rate increase. Imagine sending them out and they come back??
