When to send out invites?

hi girls

when is everyone sending out their invites? is it two months before the RSVP date or two months before the actual wedding?

Our invitation said to give guests 6 weeks to RSVP. So we will be sending them out April 15. Our RSVP date is June 1st and our wedding date is July 3. Hope that helps!

i sent mine on Dec 8th...with and rsvp of jan 23....wedding is feb 20th

...gave more time because of the holidays

i should be sending mine out in late feb/early march with an RSVP date of April 15th.

We sent out our invites right after Thanksgiving, and the RSVP date is 1/26 (we have to leave some time to chase missing RSVPs and give the caterer our final count). If we didn't collide with the holidays, we probably would have cut off one or two weeks, but we knew people might be traveling or our invite might get lost in some holiday mail for a while.

You also might want to consider whether you are having a B list and how you are going to handle those invites.

I did mine 2 months to the RSVP date. The RSVP is only 3 weeks from my wedding.

So i sent them out Nov. 5th & the RSVP is Jan 5th My wedding is 2/14

DEF send them out earlier rather than later!! I waited until the first week of December, two months before my wedding, and unfortunately so many problems ensued that I am NOW getting back returned envelopes for wrong zip code, etc which is EXTREMELY frustrating because now those people only have ONE WEEK to RSVP!!! :pullhair

Thanks everyone for the help! i met with the invitation people today and we were trying to figure out a good date to send out the invites - i didn't want them to be sent too early, but i think earlier is better than later

i have a bunch of out of town guests that if they can't come, i might invite some other work friends - so it would be good to get their RSVP's soon

i think i might send them out early March - like March 1 with an RSVP of May 1st - does that sound good? i could always send out March 15 .....

i cannot believe that us '09ers are sending out our invites already! this is so exciting!
