it can be from anywhere from 9 months to a year before .. i think that is plenty of time to give people notice ...

We sent ours out about 14 months before, but we're getting married over a holiday weekend.

We weren't engaged too long ago and I wanted to give people enough warning.

Custom is 6-12 months before.

I figured a year in advance would be good for us. Although I never sent out engagement announcements so I don't know what to do.

I have a wedding in September and I just got the STD last week.
I'm planning on sending them out about 10 months out.

I was baaaad...I sent em out only 5 months before the wedding. Not my fault though, my dogs chewed them up...but it all worked out in the end! Dad payed for the new ones! Yay!

I believe its about 10mths or more prior to the wedding..
