when to send out save the date

hello...

can any give me some advice of when to send out my save the dates? I'm getting married next august, since its on a THURSDAY i thought i'll send it out SOON -- like this YEAR. is that too soon?

The sooner you can do it, the better. Thanksgiving would be the latest (otherwise you start getting close to your real invitations going out), but I think you should shoot to have them out by Columbus Day.

Normally they say (according to magazines i've read hehe) that you should send Save the dates 9-6 months before the wedding. I personally believe that it's up to whenever you feel is right especially if is during a weekday i also believe this is around mother's day so the sooner you send these save the dates the better

I'm sending mine out, hopefully, the first week of November and my wedding is in July.

I would send them out as soon as you have a date and place set.

We sent ours out in February 2008 for an October 2008 wedding (8 months in advance). As soon as we had finalized a date and place, we ordered our STDs and set up a wedding website.

i'm sending them 6 months before, but i think it's totally up to you when you choose to send them.

mine are definitely going out a year in advance... we have several family members coming in from out of town, so we want to make sure they make their arrangements early!

I am sending mine at the 1 year mark, we have a lot of OOT guests and its on a 3 day weekend (MLK day weekend) so the more time they get the better i think it will be
