When to send out Save the dates?

For all the girls who are getting married summer 08, specifically July, how far in advance are you sending out the save the dates? Im not sure when to get on top of this!

do it anywhere from 8 months to one year in advance...If its not a holiday weekend, or if there are not other events very close to yours or anything like that then 8 month-10 months will be fine, otherwise do a year

well our wedding is july 4th so we are sending them out this july 4th!!!
