Is there a normal time frame? If my wedding is a year away, should I do it now? In a few months? I am confused... I don't want to send them out too early, ya know?

depends when is the wedding, is it a holiday weekend when most people go away? I sent mine out about 6-8m in advance.

I was thinking year before especially since ours is a holiday wknd. if not holiday wknd or not too many OOT guests than maybe 8 mos before. 80% of FH family are OOT so i am concerned about getting hotel info out in plenty of time

I sent mine in my Christmas cards for a Sept. wedding because I was getting married during labor day weekend. I don't know if there's a time frame but I would say the earlier the better.

I sent mine out 9 months before wedding date- I have a lot of OOT- this way they could make any travel and hotel arrangements they need to

we are getting married the first week of december - we have 7 months until our wedding - i wanted to send them out today but i dont have all the addresses yet (thanks to our lovely moms) but hopefully this weekend i'll be able to get them done....so ours will go out around the 6/7 month mark.....if our wedding was a holiday weekend i would have wanted to send them out earlier than that - maybe 10-12 months ahead of time

I sent mine out in January (middle) because most of my guests have to make travel plans and I thought I would give them plenty of time to lock in a good rate. My date is in September so i sent mine 9 months in advance.

im sending mine out this summer and the wedding is next sep but its labor day weekend plus my STD's are magnets so i think it doesnt matter anyways since they're going on the fridge anyway so i say the sooner the better

hey my wedding is same weekend as yours and I sent out in March. (a lot of OOT) - I thought since it was a Holiday Weekend right after Holidays - I should get the ball rolling. (it was a magnet - so I figured it might make it to the fridge)

My wedding is at the end of Dec. and I just sent them out this week.
I was going to wait until late June but with the postage increasing I prefered to send a little earlier. I've heard they should go out 6-9 month ahead of time.

I'm sending mine out as soon as I get them in the mail the next week or two. I'm a little less than a year away, but I'm the weekend before most spring breaks, weekend before Easter and Passover.

We sent ours this past August before our E-party because we wanted everyone to know when the wedding was and so we wouldn't have to keep repeating ourselves (we are getting married Oct. 31 09) so we sent ours out WAY in advance, so any time you want to.
There are always 'rules' but its your wedding so do what you want.

we sent ours out a little over a year in advance - im the first to get married out of the 'kids' and cousins on my side of the family - i figured the sooner the better - plus its a holiday

Usually at the 6 month mark the latest. I'm at the sixth month mark and I still haven't gethered all my addresses, if it makes you feel better. I've mailed out the ones I have but the ones I don't are the OOT people who really could use the STD!

i would say maybe 6-8 months b4 the wedding, i actaully didnt sent them gave them out at our engagment party
