When to send 'thank you' ?

We are getting married in 3 weeks...and are recieving gifts....that we havent opened...but I feel bad because I feel like we should at least find out who they are from to send a thank you out real quick. What is proper....do the senders expect us to open these right away...or right before the wedding.? Also, I want to put pictures in the Thank yous.....

Re: When to send 'thank you' ?

I personally would send out thank you notes now. That way people know you got their gift and it also is a few less thank you's you will need to do after the wedding.

Re: When to send 'thank you' ?

Why don't you open them now, give a quick thank you call to whoever they're from if you feel comfortable doing that, and tell them that the official 'thank you' will follow after the wedding. If I receive gifts early, that's what I plan on doing. If the gifts are from some relative that I never speak to, rather than call, I will just wait to send out the official thank-yous. I don't think it's rude, because you will be thanking them eventually, along with everyone else...good luck with it!

Re: When to send 'thank you' ?

You should send out Thank Yous as you receive gifts. I sent them out as I received gifts and if it was before the wedding I just made sure to send them another thank you for sharing the day with a thank you picture.
This way it's just out of the way and you don't have to stress about it.
