When to send thank yous

Our wedding is not until two months from now, but we are already receiving wedding gifts. When should we thank these people? I know that some of the gifts we've received are from people who are coming to the wedding, so do I send them a thank you now for the gift and then a thank you after the wedding for coming?

For those attending the wedding :I would call the people and thank them. Then tell them that formal thankyou cards will be written after the wedding when you get your photos.
If it is someone that you know will NOT attend the wedding, then write them a thank you, tell them that you will miss them at the wedding. Also, write that you will send a follow-up card with photo (if you are doing them) after the wedding.

I agree with Michele...up until about 2 weeks before the wedding...then include them in your after wedding thank yous

we are not doing photo thank yous, so we can't use that excuse! any other suggestions?!?!

I fyou are not doing photo thank yous...you should do it as soon as you get the present (you'll be glad you did when you sit down to do the tys after the wedding)

I would send them out as you getthe gift, and if they are not attending, tell them that you are sorry they cannot make our day, and their gift is gratefully appreciated. I waited till I got my picture Thank Yous, because I had people send gifts, and they adidnt attend, but if you are not doing them, then send them out now, so you dont forget.
