Some people have rsvp'd no, and then a week later, we get a check for the wedding gift. My instinct is to send a thank you right away, but part of me wants to send the official thankyou right away!
What are your suggestions?

i think i would call and thank them and then send an official thank you card?

just get a $5 pack of ty cards from target & write them a nice note, then send them an official ty when u send them out after the wedding.

Are you doing picture thank yous? If yes, then I would wait and send it with everyone elses. Otherwise, no reason to wait. IMO. but I am far from an expert on etiquette.

good question! people are RSVP'ing to the wedding and then sending a gift off my registry. do i wait until it's all over and send them an official thank you, or send one now? clueless.

I am sending their TY's out with everyone else...they sent a gift, they should get the proper TY...JMO

We got a few checks from people who can't come to the wedding, but I was going to wait and send them the picture thank you that everyone else is getting. Is this ok???

this is what we are doing. I found a pack of thank you's at the dollar store.

I agree with sending a generic thank you now then an official 'pic' thank you after the wedding. Keep in mind, they aren't going to see you at the wedding so if they receive a thank you now they won't have to worry for months as to whether or not you got the check/gift.
