I am getting married the day before you! If you are looking for somebody specific I would look into them now, and see who has the date available (which should be most at this point). I figure now is a good time to get the first picks, instead of waiting until the wedding gets really close to see who is left over. If you want you can put down a small deposit and hold your date otherwise you can live dangerously and hope nobody else claims your day. It depends how picky you are about hair/makeup - I personally wanted to make sure the hair/makeup comes out good because I've gone to events with bad hair/makeup and it just ruins the whole day. IDK, maybe that's just me.

Hair might also affect which veil and headpiece you buy!

You should start as soon as possible. The good ones book up very fast, and you want to make sure that you get who you want to do hair and makeup.

i'm getting married on 9/1/08, but i am doing my trial for my engagement photo session which will be the first week of july. i know it's a bit risky to wait until then to even do a trial, but i think it's just one of those things you have to trust by looking at the artists' portfolio and recommendations from others! if you want to make sure you know exactly what you're getting, you should probably do the trial asap so you can ease your mind. :)

Re: When to start Hair/Make-up Trials??
I'm getting married in January and I'm not going for any trials until after the summer.
I would start going to for trials immediately. Most of the 'popular' mu/hair people book up very quickly. And honestly, it might take you a few trials to find someone you love - I had makeup trials with 6 different m/u artists before I made my decision.

i would do it as soon as possible. I was unable to get my first choice bc she was booked and I originally called 10 months before my wedding. Its unbelievable how the popular vendors book up so early.

I have 2 trails set up already for the summer. since Im getting married in the summer I want to see how it holds up now instead of in the middle of winter and no humidity.
