We are now planning on a April-May 2010 wedding and will have the hall and church booked within the next 2 weeks. How far in advance should I start looking at flowers, dj's, limo's, inviations, favors. I planned on looking for my dress this summer and if I have a bridal party not until late summer early fall. Hair and makeup I was gonna leave until then too. Suggestions?

You'll probably want to look at dj/band and photo/video next, and asap. These vendors book up real fast.
ETA: I don't think there's ever really a 'too early.' I'm in June 2010 and I already have RH, Church, Photo/Video, Band, Flowers, and Limos. But that's just because I'm psycho organized and want it all done as soon as possible.

vendors are already booking well into 2010 so its def not too early to start now if you want to get your first choice in all the vendors.
i am april 2010 and already have my rh, dj, string quartet, photo/video, officiant, and just ordered my dress. we are in the process of looking at florists.

Agreed! Definitely start looking now for 2010. I actually just booked hair and makeup too because the first 3 people I inquired with were already booked for my day!!! I would say the hall, church, music, photographer and videographer should come first though! Flowers can be a bit later...I hope!

ITA.....my wedding is the day after Laura's and I booked RH, Church, DJ, Photo, Flowers, and Limos. I am not psycho organized , but I was seeing that everyone was booking up, so I decided to get the ball rolling!!

The sooner the better. Vendors book up quickly. I'm getting married 2010 and I have all major vendors booked...except Limo...which is next on the list.
I'm waiting until the summer/fall to looks for my dress and BM dresses

I think you can start looking now. The good thing about having so much time is that you can really make the move that's best for you, without having to rush into anything. FH and I have been researching photographers for what feels like MONTHS, but when the right one comes along, we'll know that we have looked at all of our options!

I would start thinking about and possibly meeting with vendors---but you have tons of time---don't rush. Take your time and make the best decision for you

I went to an expo tonight and was asking this very question...the dj and photographers both said may 2010 is booking fast. I know that sounds nuts but I guess there are so many LI brides and so little vendors lol

the earlier the better and u'll get 09 prices for a 10 wedding...most of this stuff goes up over the year
You should start soon. I still don't have a DJ - I'm gonng have everything booked by the end of April so I can finall relax. But its never too early

yeh im working on my DJ photographer,and limos are booked already and i just did a hair and makeup trial i loved it so i booked her already i know its crazy earlier but everyone gets booked up fast !! plus they did an amazing job
